in Lab/Research Interests: That's me running the winch. I began my PhD in the summer of 2003. My work is focused on disturbance to benthic communities, particularly I'm interested in a comparison of natural versus trawling-related disturbance on the PNW shelf. In June 2004 I began seasonal sampling of the benthos at three sites along the Newport Line. You can see some pictures from our most recent day cruise here. | Outside
Interests: I like most outdoor activities, especially backpacking and hiking with my dog. I'm also into sailing, which I learned mostly as a student and then working as a scientist at Sea Education Association. |
