Collaborators

(there are many more, but these are the closest at the present time)

Patricia Wiberg - University of Virginia (Environmental Science)

Pat (on right, with GRA Sarah and erosion chamber) is a long standing collaborator with expertise in shelf sediment transport. Recently, we have been working together to examine patterns of, and controls on, sediment erodibility in the Adriatic Sea.

Charles Nittrouer - University of Washington (Oceanography)

Chuck (on left), also known as Mr. Mud, has been pestered by Rob for close to a decade. Due to their mutual interests in all things sedimentary, they have been to sea together on many occasions druing the STRATAFORM and EuroSTRATAFORM programs. Most recently they were on two cruises aboard the Seward Johnson II, where they tried to deepen the Adriatic.

Paul Hill - Dalhousie University (Oceanography)

Paul and Rob were office mates in graduate school at UW, where Rob had the pleasure of listening to Paul sleep each afternoon at 1300 hrs (+/- 10 minutes). Despite this they still talk to each other on a frequent basis, and some day soon will do some official research together.

Tony D'Andrea - Oregon State University (COAS)

Tony (demonstrating his qualifications as a Benihana Cook) is a new faculty member in COAS with interests in estuarine and coastal ecology, especially: (1) the role of burrowing shrimp in Pacific Northwest estuaries, and (2) the biogeochemistry of permeable sediments. He and Rob are trying to secure some funding to work on benthic aspects of the Oregon upwelling system.
