J. Steven Fries (UNC - Morehead City)

Steve first worked with Rob as a summer student fellow at WHOI in 1994. He then became a graduate student working with Rob and Cheryl Ann Zimmer, but eventually completed a dissertation on fine-particle deposition and interfacial flows with John Trowbridge. After a post-doc at Rutgers, Steve recently moved to UNC.

Louise Hunt (New Zealand)

Louise worked in the lab as an undergraduate intern, a FRA and ultimately a grad student. She spent "heaps" of time working on photogrammetry problems, but eventually switched to a study of the Po flood. She is now back in her homeland (NZ) working in environmental management.

Chris Sommerfield (University of Delaware)

Chris was a post-doc with Rob when he was at WHOI. Chris, a student of Chuck Nitrouer's, played an important role in the STRATAFORM program, with his study of sediment accumulation patterns on the Eel margin. During his post-doc, Chris and Rob expanded their sediment accumulation studies to other Pacific Northwest margins.
